On Thursday, 15 October 2020, was organized an official ceremony for the start of the new air quality monitoring station in Gevgelija.
The supply of the monitoring station was realized within the framework of the project “Transboundary Air Pollution Health Index Development and Implementation”, funded by the INTERREG IPA cross-border program between Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020 and implemented by Center for Climate Change, Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Regional Environmental Center from Kozani, Municipality of Florina, and European Regional Framework for Cooperation from Greece.
The present participants were addressed by the Н.Е. David Geer, Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Naser Nuredini, Minister for Environment and Physical Planning, Mr. Goran Milevski, Minister for Local-Self and Mr. Saso Pockov, Mayor of the Municipality of Gevgelija
The monitoring station will be part of the State automatic monitoring system for ambient air quality, managed by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and will monitor the concentration of the following pollutants: PM10, PM 2,5, CO, NOx, SO2 and Ozone.
Now the citizens of Gevgelija will be able to follow the quality of the air they breathe.
