CCC is starting with implementation of the project “Increasing awareness about indoor air pollution at primary schools at the Republic of North Macedonia”

On the World Environmental Day, 5th of June the Center for Climate Change signed the contract for the implementation of the project “Increasing awareness for indoor air pollution in primary schools at the Republic of Northern Macedonia.” The project is funded by the Australian Embassy in Belgrade under the DAP direct assistance program.

The aim of the project is to increase the awareness of the public, students and teachers about the indoor air pollution in primary schools and the consequences for the health of children from certain exposure to polluted air.

Within the project, a pilot research on indoor air pollution will be conducted at 10 primary schools in the municipality of Karpos. In addition, educational lectures will be organized in schools, where they will have the opportunity to gain information related to air pollutants and the negative health effects of air pollution, including recommendations on how to protect themselves and what measures can be taken to reduce air pollution.

The project duration is 11 months, from June 2020 until May 2021
